PAYROLL/BOOKKEEPER
Erbsville Electrical Contractors Inc. is a highly regarded electrical contracting company located in Guelph and serving the Southwestern areas of Ontario. With over 30 years of experience in the industry, employing Master Electricians and retired Electrical Inspectors, we are seeking a Full-time Payroll/Bookkeeper to join our team to provide seamless payroll and benefits to our team while providing excellence in our accounting processes.

Roles & Responsibilities
• Process weekly hourly & salary payroll in an electrical union/non-union workplace using TSheets and QuickBooks
• Ensure accurate setup of new employees in payroll and benefits
• Follow up on discrepancies and ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees
• Maintain payroll records to support payroll and benefit procedures
• Process government remittances and deductions (EI, CPP, EHT, WSIB, union dues, etc.)
• Process ROE’s, T4’s and all monthly, quarterly and year end obligations
• Thorough understanding of union agreement to ensure compliance and accurate
record-keeping
• Respond to employee and vendor enquiries in a timely manner
• Process all year end returns
• Participate in other Accounting/HR projects and perform additional duties as required

Qualifications
• At least 3 years of direct experience of processing payroll in unionized workplace
• Working knowledge of payroll processing through QuickBooks
• CPA, PSP certified an asset
• Possess an understanding of GAAP
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to problem solve independently
• Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and thrives in a past paced environment
